Product Specialist
Role Summary
The Product Specialist provides knowledgeable, friendly, and compliant service, offering personalized recommendations and smooth checkout experiences. They support sales, orders, and merchandising while keeping the store welcoming, well-presented, and fully compliant.
Key Responsibilities
Product Knowledge & Customer Education
- Maintain knowledge of all products
- Educate customers on product differences, characteristics, and proper use in compliance with state and local regulations
- Stay updated on new products, inventory changes, and share insights with team members
Sales, Orders & Merchandising
- Process transactions and fulfill online/ in-store orders accurately and efficiently using POS systems
- Provide personalized product recommendations and support a high-quality customer experience
- Maintain stocked and organized product displays presented according to merchandising and brand standards
Inventory Awareness & Menu Accuracy
- Report inventory or menu discrepancies and customer feedback to leadership
Compliance & Cash Handling
- Verify customer ID and medical recommendations as required by law
- Reconcile cash drawers and follow all cash-handling procedures under management supervision
- Maintain compliance with all regulations and company policies
Store Support
- Perform opening/closing duties, restocking, and cleaning tasks
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional retail environment
- Support operational readiness, teamwork, and floor efficiency during shift
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Minimum High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required.
- Previous retail or customer service experience or sales preferred; cannabis industry experience a plus.
- Basic knowledge of cannabis products, including flower, concentrates, edibles, topicals, dosing, and methods of consumption.
- Familiarity with point of sale and compliance tools (e.g., Dutchie and Metrc) preferred.
- Must be over 21 years of age.
- Applicants must consent to a background check.
- Must have a valid State-Issued ID or U.S. Passport.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Must be flexible with scheduling; no restrictions.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to occasionally lift 50+ pounds.
- Must be able to either sit or stand for extended periods of time.
