Getz Fire Equipment is a leader in the life and safety industry, headquartered in Peoria, Illinois. We are seeking a self-motivated Restaurant Fire Suppression Service Technician to join our growing team. This position plays a critical role in protecting lives and property by ensuring commercial kitchen fire suppression systems are installed, serviced, and maintained to the highest standards.
This role is ideal for a hands‑on technician who values safety, quality work, and independence in the field.
Job Responsibilities
- Install, service, inspect, and repair commercial kitchen hood fire suppression systems
- Perform service on industrial and vehicle fire suppression systems
- Troubleshoot system issues and complete necessary repairs
- Respond to emergency service calls when needed
- Complete daily service reports and documentation
- Assist with shop inventory and material processing
- Follow all company and safety policies
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and climb ladders
- Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with tools
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Basic computer skills (email, reports, spreadsheets)
- Must comply with Drug & Alcohol Policy (safety‑sensitive position; no marijuana use)
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years experience with kitchen hood fire suppression systems
- Knowledge of NFPA 17A and NFPA 96
- Fire extinguisher inspection and service experience
- Experience quoting repairs and installations
- Kitchen fire suppression system certifications
