Join The Bridge Group as our new Construction Project Manager to support our client in Chicago, IL. In this role you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing construction and renovation projects. You’ll work closely with internal stakeholders, design professionals, and external contractors to ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and with minimal disruption to business operations. This role will likely require travel to other client locations both in and outside Chicago.
Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end construction projects from concept/design coordination through closeout and turnover
- Lead project governance and planning (scope, schedule, budget, risk, and change control) to meet business-critical timelines and internal approval milestones
- Facilitate and run project meetings/workshops; document decisions, action items, and status updates for internal stakeholders (Facilities/Real Estate, Operations, Security, IT as applicable, and other project partners)
- Coordinate and manage architects, engineers, contractors, and tenant improvement vendors to deliver fit-out scope that meets client requirements
- Build and maintain TI project schedules and phasing plans including critical-path planning for work sequencing and site constraints
- Prepare budget estimates, track commitments and spend, manage forecast-to-complete, and control costs through variance and change management
- Ensure quality control and that installed work aligns with project design standards, specifications, and applicable codes/regulatory requirements
- Review and approve proposals, submittals, RFIs, and invoices; ensure work performed and costs billed align to contract terms and TI scope
- Manage procurement and vendor selection activities through RFP/RFQ processes as needed for TI packages
- Ensure safe execution in occupied/operational environments, including site safety coordination, access control planning, and work-hour adherence
- Support compliance and turnover documentation needs (as-built deliverables, O&M documentation, and commissioning/test coordination where applicable)
- Oversee project closeout: punch-list completion, documentation handover, and contractual closeout
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Facilities Management, or related field
- 5-7 years of project management experience delivering tenant improvements/office fit-outs in occupied environments
- Proven track record delivering projects with strict scheduling, limited downtime windows, and high stakeholder scrutiny
- Strong understanding of TI delivery elements including permitting/code compliance, finish/spec coordination, and MEP coordination impacts to office spaces
- Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Procore, AutoCAD/Bluebeam)
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills including the ability to manage approvals and resolve issues quickly.
- PMP or equivalent certification is a plus
Pay: $120,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
