Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians with clinical procedures including animal restraint, medication administration, and sample collection.
- Provide high-quality animal care by monitoring patient health, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring proper pet handling techniques.
- Support kennel operations by managing animal housing, feeding, and hygiene to promote optimal animal well-being.
- Perform laboratory tasks such as sample processing, basic diagnostic testing, and maintaining accurate records.
- Handle front desk duties including client communication, appointment scheduling, and maintaining patient records with professionalism.
- Execute aseptic techniques during procedures to prevent infection and ensure safety standards are upheld.
- Support emergency and critical care cases by assisting with animal stabilization, catheterization, and intensive monitoring when needed.
- Assist with animal restraint during examinations or treatments while demonstrating excellent animal handling skills.
- Maintain detailed documentation of treatments, medications administered, and procedural notes following veterinary terminology standards.
- Contribute to a positive clinic environment by fostering pet care education for clients and supporting team collaboration.
Experience
- Previous kennel experience or hands-on animal husbandry is highly valued.
- Experience working as a veterinary technician or assistant in a clinic setting is preferred.
- Familiarity with veterinary critical care procedures and laboratory work enhances your candidacy.
- Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, physiology, and aseptic techniques is essential.
- Proven ability to handle dogs confidently and perform animal restraint safely is required.
- Equine experience or working with larger animals is considered a plus but not mandatory.
- Strong communication skills for front desk responsibilities along with excellent animal handling abilities are necessary to succeed in this role.
