Position Summary:
Perform microbiological and molecular testing on clinical specimens for the detection, isolation, and identification of bacterial and fungal pathogens. Responsible for PCR, sequencing, culture analysis, quality control, result interpretation, and compliance with CLIA regulations.
Key Responsibilities:

Perform microbiology and molecular testing including culture, PCR, sequencing, MALDI-TOF, and Whole Genome Sequencing (WGS).

Process specimens, extract nucleic acids, analyze results, and prepare reports.

Maintain accurate laboratory records and ensure compliance with CLIA and quality standards.

Conduct quality control, equipment maintenance, and proficiency testing.

Manage laboratory inventory and assist with data analysis and epidemiological reporting.

Cross-train in additional laboratory disciplines as needed.
Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Medical Laboratory Science, or related field.

Experience with microbiological and molecular diagnostic techniques.

Knowledge of CLIA regulations, laboratory quality assurance, and biosafety practices.

Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills.

Ability to work independently in a high-complexity clinical laboratory environment.
