Our client in Pennsauken, NJ is in need of Production/Inspectors/Punch Press Operators. Individuals will be inspecting rubber medical components and operating a Punch Press.
Schedule: Monday through Friday
3rd shift: 10pm-6am
Pay rate: $20.00 (union company, full rate of pay $24.15hr)
Responsibilities:
Job duties will include quality performance levels, maintain production and operate a manual punch press:
- Pre-control operator reads Travel Lot Record, Pre-Control Ticket and performs pre-control inspection. Visually inspects products for defects listed thereon or measures with snap gauge, working at worktable or automated belt. Manually punches out defects, using drive punch and mallet on punch pad and base. Saves certain defects for Statistical Product Control (SPC). Signs off on Pre-Control Clearance Sheet and TLR when all lots are completed, compound changes, new products started, and at end of shift.
- Screw insertion operator uses Screw Insertion Machine by placing molded sheet in a seater plate, which is then placed in hydraulic press. Removes seater plate. Places screw plate on to the shaker/vibrator, filling screw plate with screws by use of the shaker/vibrator until all holes on plate are filled with metal screws. Places both sheets together and puts in hydraulic press. Actuates hydraulic press to compress screws into rubber sheet.
- Automatic hole punch operator tends machine, insuring that the in-feed hopper is loaded with nipples and that assembled cartons are placed on box shifter. Removes a predetermined number of nipples from each carton for Quality Control inspection, then seals cartons with manual tape dispenser. Places carton on pallet in warehouse. Fabricates cartons as needed and transports them to machine as required. Maintains SPC charting as required.
- Die trim operator uses punch presses to die cut products from sheets of molded products. Aligns sheet of molded product into die and uses seating fixture, or own hands, to press sheet into machine die. For some product, uses scissors to cut sheets to required size and places on loading rack. Actuates machine micro-switches to trigger machine. Pushes knee stop button with knee in case of emergency. Removes flash pad manually if machine not equipped with robot arm.
Skills, knowledge and abilities:
Ability to read and write English, basic math, weigh different preforms/granules, ability to detect various types of defects.
Requirements:
Good eye vision and hand coordination, good dexterity
Attention to details and depth perception
High school diploma or equivalent required
