Shenandoah Veterinary Associates is looking for a Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our growing emergency and critical care team. We are an independently owned emergency hospital serving Roanoke and Southwest Virginia from a newly renovated, 16,000 square foot facility designed specifically for advanced patient care, team efficiency, and client comfort.

What you will do
As an Emergency LVT, you will play a central role in patient care and clinical decision making. Responsibilities include:
- Triage and initial patient assessment
- Placement and maintenance of intravenous and urinary catheters
- Blood collection and in house diagnostic testing
- Emergency stabilization and critical care nursing
- Anesthesia induction, monitoring, and recovery
- Surgical preparation and assistance
- Administration of medications, fluids, and blood products
- Monitoring and documenting hospitalized patients
- Supporting CPR and other emergency procedures
- Communicating clearly and compassionately with clients
- Maintaining accurate medical records
- Helping train and support veterinary assistants and newer team members
- Contributing to the development of emergency protocols and hospital procedures
Who we are looking for
The right candidate will have:
- A current Virginia LVT license or the ability to obtain one
- Strong technical and patient assessment skills
- The ability to remain calm and organized during urgent situations
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- A commitment to high quality, compassionate medicine
- Comfort working evenings, weekends, and some holidays
Emergency or specialty experience is preferred, but we are also open to an experienced LVT who is ready to advance into emergency medicine with the right training and support.
