Job Overview
We are looking for a creative and detail-oriented Gelato, Ice Cream and Sorbet Maker to join our team. This role involves preparing, mixing, and freezing high-quality ice cream, sorbets, and other frozen desserts. The ideal candidate is passionate about food, enjoys working in a hands-on environment, and is committed to maintaining high standards of quality and cleanliness. Previous professional kitchen experience is required.
Key Responsibilities
Frozen Dessert Production
- Scale and mix ingredients according to established recipes and production guidelines.
- Operate ice cream machines, batch freezers, blenders and other production equipment.
- Monitor the freezing process to ensure proper texture and consistency.
- Experiment with new flavors and ingredients under the guidance of the Production Manager.
- Properly label and store finished products for retail or wholesale distribution.
Quality Control & Safety
- Perform quality checks to ensure the consistency, taste, and texture of frozen desserts.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the production area.
- Follow all health and safety regulations, including food handling and storage procedures.
- Adhere to HACCP and FDA food safety guidelines.
Inventory & Equipment Maintenance
- Assist in measuring and tracking inventory of raw ingredients.
- Ensure equipment is cleaned and sanitized after each use.
- Report any issues with equipment or ingredient shortages to management.
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
