The Resident Transportation Driver is responsible for safely transporting residents to and from medical appointments and other approved destinations. This position also assists ambulatory and wheelchair-dependent residents with entering and exiting the vehicle safely and comfortably.
Safely transport residents to medical appointments and other scheduled destinations
Assist residents with entering and exiting the transportation vehicle
Properly secure wheelchairs and other mobility equipment
Monitor resident safety and comfort throughout transportation
Communicate with nursing staff regarding schedules, appointments, and resident needs
Maintain accurate transportation records
Keep the vehicle clean, organized, fueled, and ready for use
Report vehicle concerns or safety issues promptly
Follow all facility policies, traffic laws, and resident confidentiality requirements
Provide courteous and respectful assistance to residents, families, and healthcare providers
Valid driver’s license
Acceptable driving record
Current CPR certification required
Active CNA license preferred, but not required
Experience working with older adults or individuals with disabilities preferred
Ability to safely assist residents who use wheelchairs, walkers, and other mobility devices
Dependable, professional, patient, and compassionate
Must meet all applicable employment, background-check, and facility requirements
