About the Role
We are looking for a highly skilled Advanced Bench Jeweler to join our team. This role is designed for a seasoned professional who excels in complex repairs, advanced stone setting, restoration work, and custom fabrication. In addition to producing exceptional bench work, this individual will serve as a mentor to apprentice and bench jewelers, helping elevate the capabilities of the entire shop.
Works Efficiently in Below Areas
- Perform advanced repairs and restoration on high-value jewelry
- Execute complex prong, bezel, channel, halo, and shared-prong settings
- Create pavé settings from scratch
- Perform engraving techniques including milgrain application, bright cutting, and cross-hatching
- Utilize advanced laser welding techniques
- Fabricate custom heads and completely rebuild damaged heads
- Perform advanced shared-prong repairs and reconstructions
- Reconstruct prongs in shared, cluster, and multi-stone settings
- Restore vintage and heirloom jewelry
- Complete complex multi-joint solder repairs
- Safely solder near diamonds, gemstones, and delicate materials
- Work confidently with fragile and sensitive gemstones
- Perform complex ring resizing projects
- Reconstruct collapsed channels, galleries, and structural elements
- Restore heavily worn pieces to like-new condition
- Complete structural rebuilds in gold, silver, platinum, and palladium
- Train, mentor, and support apprentice and bench jewelers
- Assist with quality control and best-practice development within the shop
Qualifications
- 8–15 years of professional bench jewelry experience
- Demonstrated expertise in advanced stone setting and restoration
- Strong fabrication, laser welding, and repair skills
- Experience working on high-value, estate, and vintage jewelry
- Ability to diagnose complex repair challenges and develop effective solutions
- Proven ability to train and mentor less-experienced jewelers
- Exceptional attention to detail and craftsmanship
Success in This Role
- Consistently completes approximately 15–25 jobs per day
- Serves as a technical resource and mentor for the jewelry shop
- Produces high-quality work with exceptional consistency and minimal returns
- Maintains confidence and precision when handling complex, high-value pieces
- Contributes to a culture of craftsmanship, quality, and continuous improvement
Compensation: Competitive compensation based on experience and skill level. Benefits package available.
Pay: $22.14 - $26.66 per hour
