The Manufacturing Engineer will focus on continuous improvement for manufacturing operations by analyzing, developing, and implementing cost-effective manufacturing solutions to support KPI's. This position will involve leading the implementation of 5S, conducting kaizen events, product quality improvements, root cause analysis, and cost reduction initiatives. Position does not require direct supervision however it will require leading kaizen events.
LOCATION: Mostly Onsite – 3995 Pine Ln SE, Bessemer, AL 35022
Some limited travel required
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Developing and implementing 5S program.
- Continuously improving operation procedures and production through planning and leading kaizen events.
- Supporting plant operations as necessary to ensure KPI's are met.
- Developing and implementing Capital Expenditure projects.
- Determining manufacturing equipment needs.
- Conducting root cause and corrective action for manufacturing non-conformances.
- Creating documentation of work instructions, standard work, and process flows.
QUALIFICATIONS & ATTRIBUTES:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering; Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, or Manufacturing Engineering preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
- 1-3 Years Manufacturing Engineering, Continuous Improvement, or Quality Engineering required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Experience in implementation of 5S.
- Kaizen leadership experience.
- Fabrication and Assembly experience.
- Value stream mapping and Mechanical Assembly experience.
- Occasionally, may require lifting and exerting in other directions up to 75 pounds.
- Must be able to work night shift M-Friday 8 hours or 10 depending on the support needed. Hours are Mon-Th 7pm-530am, M-F 9pm-530am

Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
