Position Overview
We are seeking a highly technical, hands-on Senior Vice President (SVP) of Electrical Design & Build to lead the in-house engineering, specification, and deployment of electrical infrastructure for hyperscale and AI-driven data center environments.
This is a working executive role for an individual with deep practical experience designing and building mission-critical electrical systems for large-scale data centers and high-density AI compute environments.
The ideal candidate must be capable of personally producing electrical system designs, one-line diagrams, power distribution layouts, load calculations, equipment specifications, and construction documentation while driving full electrical project execution from concept through commissioning.
This role is focused on hyperscale and AI infrastructure requiring large-scale utility coordination, high-density power architecture, rapid deployment execution, and mission-critical reliability.
Key Responsibilities
Hands-On Electrical Engineering & Design
- Personally design and engineer electrical infrastructure systems for hyperscale data centers
- Produce and review:
- One-line electrical diagrams
- Power distribution layouts
- Electrical room layouts
- Busway and conduit routing plans
- Grounding and bonding plans
- Equipment schedules
- Electrical specifications
- Construction drawing packages
- Develop scalable power architecture standards for AI and GPU compute environments
- Create repeatable deployment templates and infrastructure standards
AI & High-Density Power Infrastructure
- Design electrical systems supporting large-scale GPU and AI compute deployments
- Engineer solutions including:
- Medium- and low-voltage distribution
- UPS systems
- Switchgear
- PDUs
- Busway systems
- Generator infrastructure
- Redundant power architectures
- Perform electrical load calculations, fault analysis, and capacity planning
- Design infrastructure for high-density rack deployments and AI workloads
- Coordinate utility interconnection and power delivery strategies
Design-Build Execution
- Lead full in-house electrical design-build delivery for hyperscale projects
- Coordinate directly with utilities, contractors, vendors, commissioning agents, and field teams
- Support construction execution, startup, testing, and commissioning
- Resolve field engineering and installation issues in real time
- Ensure all systems meet uptime, redundancy, scalability, and reliability requirements
Technical Leadership
- Serve as senior technical authority for all electrical infrastructure decisions
- Maintain direct involvement in engineering, drafting, specifications, and field coordination
- Establish electrical engineering standards, QA/QC procedures, and deployment methodologies
- Support rapid deployment schedules for hyperscale expansion projects
Required Qualifications
- 15+ years of hands-on electrical engineering experience in mission-critical or hyperscale environments
- Proven experience designing and building electrical infrastructure for large-scale data centers
- Ability to personally create:
- One-line diagrams
- Electrical layouts
- Power distribution plans
- Technical specifications
- Construction packages
- Deep expertise in:
- Medium- and low-voltage systems
- Critical power infrastructure
- Utility coordination
- Generator and UPS systems
- High-density AI/GPU environments
- Strong understanding of:
- Hyperscale infrastructure architecture
- Redundant electrical systems
- AI/HPC deployments
- Commissioning and startup procedures
- Experience supporting large-scale GPU or AI compute deployments
Preferred Technical Skills
- AutoCAD
- Revit / BIM
- SKM or ETAP modeling
- Arc flash and fault current analysis
- Power quality analysis
- Utility interconnection planning
- High-density rack power design
- Modular or prefabricated infrastructure systems
- Commissioning and operational readiness procedures

Pay: From $125,000.00 per year
