Annapolis Yacht Club is looking for an energetic, self-starting Banquet Manager to join our team!
The Banquet Manager will be responsible for managing the execution of weddings, corporate, and other private and club hosted events in a high-volume, fast paced environment. The Banquet Manager will ensure all banquet facilities are set up and service is delivered in a manner that demonstrates our commitment to providing our members and guests with exemplary service and experience.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the main point of contact for the client during an event.
- Responsible for proper set up of all club events.
- Prepare assignments for staff assigned to each event. Includes assignments for each portion of the work shift, including set-up, reception, event breakdown and side work.
- Conducts meetings with staff at the start of each shift. Inspect uniforms, review assignments, and steps of service for each event.
- Work closely with Sales Director and Executive Chef to plan and successfully execute all events.
- Coordinates food service between kitchen and service staff.
- Assist in solving event related challenges.
- Maintains all silver and service ware items.
- Resolves member/guest complaints within scope of authority; otherwise refers the matter to management.
- Assures that all safety, accident and emergency policies and procedures are in place and consistently followed.
- Assists in training, supervising, and evaluating event service staff.
- Inspects dining room to ensure proper maintenance, cleanliness, and safety.
- Enforces established rules, regulations, and policies of the Club.
- Assist in scheduling and creation of floor plans
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of two years’ supervisory experience in a high-volume restaurant or banquet facility. Fine dining experience preferred.
- Knowledge of food and beverage preparation, service standards, guest relations and etiquette.
- Excellent verbal and written skills. Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred but not required.
- Excellent interpersonal skills required.
- Ability to operate computer systems including but not limited to POS systems and Microsoft Office Suites.
- Ability to multitask in fast-paced environment a must.
- Ability to work with limited supervision and with attention to detail.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $70,000.00 per year
