Under the direction of the Center Director the Assistant Director is responsible for assisting in the administration and operation of the All About Kids assigned. This includes but is not limited to the following job duties:
Duties and Responsibilities:
A) Managing employees when Director is out
a. Disciplining (if applicable) – writing occurrences and maintaining a healthy and safe work environment for all employees.
b. Addressing employee questions and concerns as needed.
c. Assisting teachers with job performance and professionalism
B) Oversees All Teacher Training:
a. Adhering to State mandated guidelines in accordance with AAK policies and procedures. Assists employees in locating and scheduling classes.
b. Conducts new hire training within 5 business days of the first day of employment.
c. Conducts Bus Driver Trainings
A) Greeting parents when arriving/leaving – this means making sure a member of management is always at the front desk.
B) Addressing parent concerns when the Director is out.
C) Answering the phones
D) Creating and implementing teachers schedules
E) Assists teachers with behavioral issues and concerns with the classroom.
F) Reviews and Types all classroom lesson plans.
G) Performs classroom audits on a monthly basis.
H) Responsible for touring potential families when Director is unable.
I) Developing classroom information packets for potential parents (Tour Folders)
J) Assisting in maintaining child files by adhering to all AAK and State Guidelines.
K) Assisting the Director in maintaining compliance with both the state and AAK rules and regulations.
L) Develops and conducts children transitions.
M) Monitoring Classrooms via web cams on a daily basis
N) Drives bus and subs in the classrooms when needed
O) Performs playground inspections on a quarterly basis
P) Oversees weekly and monthly bus inspections
Q) Maintains compliance with bus binders
R) Conducts weekly first aid checks
S) Conducts and Reports Monthly Fire and Tornado drills.
a. Quarterly Playground Inspection Reports
T) Responsible for All Bus Maintenance:
a. Making sure all required forms and information is on each bus at the appropriate times.
b. Weekly Bus Inspection and Walk Through
c. Field Trip and School Trip Attendance Sheets
d. Updates and Maintenance needed
U) Adhering to state and AAK guidelines when administering medication to children.
V) Performs weekly checks of medication making sure proper forms are up to date, medicine is not expired, and all other state and AAK requirements are being met.
W) Designee when/if State arrives and the Director is unavailable.
X) Summer Camp:
a. Developing Activities Calendar
b. Creating Field Trip Schedules
c. Creating summer camp fee schedule (must be approved by the director)
d. Field Trip Permission Forms and Organized Documentation
e. End of Summer Camp Parent and Teacher Survey
Y) Oversees lunch counts and menus
a. Making sure the center adheres to all state guidelines when developing the monthly menu.
Z) Employees:
a. Observing teachers and classrooms via our camera system. Making sure teachers are in their classrooms and active with their students. (No Teachers At the Front Desk)
AA) Closing Duties:
a. Center Walk Through
i. Making sure all classrooms and Kitchen have been cleaned/picked up.
A) Responsible for maintaining positive relationships with many individuals and organizations. Frequent Contacts may include managers, coworkers, children, families, government entities, volunteers, staff and other potential funding sources.
B) Working knowledge of programs serving infants to school age children.
C) Flexible schedule of availability
D) Following All About Kids rules and regulations
E) Setting positive example for employees on job performance
F) Yearly Calendar:
a. Maintaining a calendar of yearly events, updates, maintenance/cleaning schedule, classroom wish lists and repair/replacement wish lists.
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
