Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Cashier to join our retail team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional customer service, handle transactions accurately, and maintain a welcoming shopping environment. Experience with POS systems, retail sales, and cash handling is preferred. Bilingual skills and supervisory experience are a plus. Responsibilities
- Operate POS systems efficiently to process customer transactions accurately
- Greet customers warmly and provide excellent customer service
- Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions with precision and integrity
- Assist customers with product inquiries and provide product demos when needed
- Upsell items to enhance customer experience and increase sales
- Maintain merchandising standards by stocking shelves and organizing displays
- Conduct inventory checks and assist with stock replenishment
- Ensure the checkout area is clean, organized, and welcoming
- Demonstrate effective phone etiquette when assisting customers over the phone
- Supervise or assist in supervising junior staff or team members as needed
Qualifications
- Previous cashiering experience in a retail or grocery store environment preferred
- Familiarity with POS systems and basic retail math skills
- Strong communication skills and ability to engage with diverse customers
- Ability to perform basic math accurately for transactions and sales calculations
- Customer service-oriented with a friendly attitude
- Bilingual abilities are advantageous for serving a diverse customer base
- Experience in supervising or leading team members is a plus
- Ability to handle cash responsibly and maintain confidentiality of financial information
- Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends or holidays if required
