POSITION SUMMARY: The maintenance floater performs a wide range of duties including general maintenance and repairs, such as fixing plumbing, electrical, and carpentry issues, as well as handling routine cleaning and groundskeeping. This role also requires being on-call for emergencies, completing preventative maintenance tasks, and assisting with tasks like trash removal and security.
QUALIFICATIONS: Previous experience in building maintenance or custodial services. A current valid NYS driver license. Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Perform repairs on appliances, plumbing, electrical systems, and carpentry.
· Replace flooring, locks, fixtures, and other general items as needed.
· Paint interiors and exteriors when necessary.
· Complete work orders and maintain records of all repairs and replacements.
· Keep common areas, parking lots, and grounds clean and presentable.
· Empty trash, pick up litter, and perform basic landscaping tasks like pulling weeds.
· Perform specialized cleaning using floor machines: buffing, waxing, and vacuuming carpets.
· Assist with snow removal, including snow blowing, plowing, and shoveling.
· Conduct routine inspections of equipment and facilities to address potential problems.
· Perform preventative maintenance on equipment according to schedules and guidelines.
· Replace filters, light bulbs, and batteries.
· Be available for emergency calls, including after-hours situations.
