Job Summary
The Quality Assurance Inspector is responsible for performing basic inspections of pump components, parts, and finished products to help ensure they meet established quality standards and production specifications. This entry-level position works within the Quality Assurance Department to learn inspection procedures, accurately document results, and support SIMFLO's commitment to delivering high-quality pumping solutions.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to accurately inspect and document work.
- Ability to learn, use, and accurately read basic measuring and inspection tools.
- Ability to read and understand basic blueprints, engineering drawings, work instructions, and quality documentation.
- Good communication and teamwork skills with the ability to work effectively with others.
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions while learning quality assurance procedures and applicable ISO manufacturing and quality requirements.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Inspect and accurately measure pump components and parts to verify conformance with SIMFLO drawings, specifications, and established quality requirements.
- Document inspection results and maintain required quality records using appropriate measuring and inspection tools.
- Work with Quality Assurance personnel and shop supervisors to follow established quality and applicable ISO procedures and communicate quality concerns.
- Assist with measuring tool calibrations, internal audits, quality documentation, and other Quality Assurance activities as needed.
- Follow company policies, safety standards, quality procedures, and applicable ISO manufacturing and quality requirements while performing assigned duties.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements
- Frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds throughout the workday.
- Stand and walk for extended periods, up to 8 hours per shift, while frequently bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching overhead, and climbing stairs or ladders as required.
- Push and pull materials and equipment and perform physical tasks associated with inspecting and handling parts, including the ability to grip, handle, and forcefully use hand tools as required.
- Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow all established safety procedures while performing job duties.
- Work is performed primarily in a manufacturing environment with exposure to moving machinery, forklifts, loud noise, dust, lubricants, and other industrial conditions. Occasional work outdoors may be required.
Qualifications
- Basic math and computer skills.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Willingness to learn inspection processes, measuring tools, and quality assurance procedures.
