Elementary Teacher (K-6)
The Icahn Charter Schools is seeking highly-qualified elementary teachers to work at the K-6 grade-level. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong competence in the following areas, as well as meet our qualification benchmarks:
Elementary School Teacher Requirements:

Elementary School Teacher Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ability to create an active learning environment with lesson objectives that are rigorous, clear, measurable, and aligned with the Core Knowledge curriculum and New York State Learning Standards
- Use of differentiated instructional methods and assessments to support:
- Engaged learning
- Higher-order thinking skills
- Meaningful, authentic use of knowledge
- Integration of 21st century skills
- Multiple Intelligences
- Student accountability
- Development and distribution of clear evaluation criteria to students prior to assignments
- Use of formative and summative assessments to drive instruction and measure student and curricular progress
- Strong classroom management with adherence to school/network discipline policies and code of ethics
- Consistent and effective communication with students, parents, and colleagues
- Shared responsibility of grade level and school-wide activities
- Willingness to perform additional duties as assigned
- Duties may include participating in faculty committees for the development of curricular programs and/or student activities, maintaining professional competence through in-service education activities provided by the network and in self-selected professional growth activities, etc.
Elementary School Teacher qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (will accept official transcript if pending graduation)
- Master’s degree (preferred)
- NYS Certification in Early Childhood Education and/or Childhood Education
- Candidates with additional certification in Students with Disabilities, Literacy, and/or Mathematics will be given priority
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Teaching experience (minimum of 2 years preferred)

Pay: $71,027.00 - $81,956.00 per year
