Production Grinder Job Summary:
PrideStaff is working with a local manufacturer that is seeking a Production Grinder to join their growing team. The Production Grinder will use a specialized machine to smooth metal surfaces before finishing. The ideal Production Grinder candidate is detail-oriented and has at least 2 years of experience working with grinders or sanders. The Production Grinder is a full-time, temp-to-hire position in Webster, NY
Production Grinder Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Identify Defects in Work Piece using Visual & Touch Inspection
- Use Required Specifications & knowledge of Abrasives & Conditions of Metal to Select Grade of Abrasive Belt & Attach to Grinder
- Smooth Surface of Work Piece to Remove Scratches, Excess Weld Material, Burs & Laminated Metal using Grinder
- Use Finer Abrasive to Polish Ground Areas to Produce a Smooth Surface
- Replace Abrasive Disks, Wheels & Belts as Necessary
- Follow All PPE & Safety Guidelines
- Other Duties as Assigned by Supervisor
Production Grinder Technician Job Requirements:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent Required
- 2+ Years of Finishing, Grinding, or Deburring Experience Preferred
- Must be able to Read & Interpret documents such as Safety rules, Operating & Maintenance Instructions & Procedure Manuals
- Must have Good Verbal & Written Communication & the Ability to Produce Reports & Correspondence when Needed
- Basic Math Skills are Required, including Addition, Subtraction, Division & Measurements
- Must be able to Follow Instructions Provided in Written, Oral, or Diagram Form & Solve Problems Involving Several Concrete Variables in Standardized Situations
- Must be able to Stand, Walk, Sit, use Hands & Arms & Lift up to 50 Lbs
