Acme Construction is a Utah-based heavy civil contractor specializing in road reconstruction, structural concrete, excavation, and large-scale public infrastructure projects throughout the Wasatch Front.
We are currently seeking dependable and hardworking Excavation Laborers to join our team. This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy outdoor, hands-on work and want to be part of major civil construction projects that improve local infrastructure.
Job Responsibilities
- Assist excavation crews with site preparation, trenching, grading, and underground utility installation
- Perform manual labor related to excavation operations, including digging, shoveling, and material handling
- Support equipment operators by spotting, grade checking, and maintaining safe excavation zones
- Work alongside heavy equipment such as Loaders, Excavators, Graders, and Dozers to support excavation and earthwork activities
- Assist operators during excavation, backfilling, grading, and material placement operations
- Help direct the movement of heavy machinery by providing hand signals and maintaining safe clearances around active equipment
- Perform general labor tasks associated with earthmoving operations, including cleanup around equipment and work areas
- Load, unload, and organize tools, materials, and construction supplies on job sites
- Assist with daily equipment checks, fueling, cleaning, and basic maintenance support for machinery
- Install and remove trench boxes, shoring systems, and other excavation safety equipment
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with company and OSHA safety standards
- Follow instructions from supervisors, foremen, and equipment operators
- Assist with traffic control, erosion control, and general site cleanup as needed
Requirements
- Ability to perform physically demanding labor in outdoor conditions, including lifting heavy materials and working on uneven terrain
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to work as part of a team
- Ability to work safely around heavy equipment and follow all site safety procedures
- Previous experience working around Loaders, Excavators, Dozers, or other heavy construction equipment is preferred
- Previous Grader & Trimble experience required
- Familiarity with basic hand and power tools is a plus
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred
