Duties
- Perform comprehensive dental hygiene procedures including prophylaxis, scaling, root planing, and fluoride treatments to maintain and improve patients’ oral health.
- Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and dental charts to develop personalized treatment plans.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, preventive care, and the importance of regular dental visits to foster long-term health habits.
- Assist with chairside procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to ensure efficient workflow and patient comfort.
- Take and interpret medical imaging such as X-rays while adhering to all infection control protocols and aseptic techniques.
- Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient records, treatment notes, and medical histories in EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient information and maintaining confidentiality at all times.
Qualifications
- Valid licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current state certification.
- Proven experience in general dentistry with a strong background in dental assisting, infection control, and medical terminology.
- Proficiency in dental software systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for documentation review and record keeping.
- Knowledge of pediatric dentistry principles and experience working with pediatric patients is a plus.
- Familiarity with medical coding, medical imaging, vital signs measurement, and anatomy knowledge relevant to dental practice.
- Excellent patient care skills with the ability to communicate effectively about treatment plans and oral health education.
Pay: $60.00 - $70.00 per hour
