Position Summary
Profab Electronics is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented AOI Technician/Operator to support our quality electronics manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have experience operating and monitoring AOI equipment, inspecting PCB assemblies for defects, and ensuring products meet established quality standards. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with ISO standards, customer requirements, regulatory obligations, and internal quality objectives while fostering a culture of operational excellence throughout the organization.
This position requires strong attention to detail, technical troubleshooting skills, and the ability to identify component placement, soldering, polarity, and other assembly defects. The successful candidate will work closely with Production, Engineering, and Quality teams to maintain accuracy, consistency, and quality throughout the manufacturing process.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor AOI equipment to inspect PCB assemblies for defects.
- Set up and run AOI programs according to production requirements.
- Review and verify AOI inspection results and identify potential defects.
- Inspect PCB assemblies for component placement, polarity, soldering, missing components, and other assembly issues.
- Troubleshoot AOI equipment and inspection issues as needed.
- Make appropriate program adjustments to reduce false calls and improve inspection accuracy.
- Work closely with Production, Engineering, and Quality teams to resolve defects and production issues.
- Perform routine equipment checks and assist with basic equipment maintenance.
- Maintain accurate inspection records and production documentation.
- Support troubleshooting and continuous improvement activities to improve product quality and production efficiency.
- Follow ESD, safety, quality, and manufacturing procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
Required Qualifications
- Applicants must be a U.S Person (U.S Citizen or Permanent Resident)
- Experience in electronics manufacturing, PCB assembly, or SMT production.
- Previous experience operating AOI equipment in an electronics manufacturing environment preferred.
- Ability to inspect PCB assemblies and identify component placement, soldering, polarity, and other defects.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accuracy and consistency.
