Join our dynamic mental health team as a Counselor - II, where you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive psychological support and therapeutic services to diverse populations. As a Counselor - II, you will be instrumental in delivering evidence-based interventions across outpatient and inpatient settings, fostering resilience and recovery.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing medical terminology, ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding standards, and HIPAA-compliant documentation practices.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans incorporating psychotherapy modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, dance therapy, and applied behavior analysis (ABA).
- Provide individual and group counseling sessions focused on mental health counseling, addiction counseling, grief counseling, PTSD care, gender issues counseling, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism.
- Engage in crisis intervention and crisis management to support patients experiencing acute mental health emergencies or behavioral crises.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams on case management efforts, including patient care coordination, medical records management, and behavioral health integration.
- Utilize telehealth platforms for remote patient consultations while maintaining compliance with medical documentation standards and HIPAA regulations.
- Participate in clinical research initiatives to enhance treatment approaches and contribute to data collection efforts for continuous quality improvement.
Skills
- Proven expertise in psychotherapy techniques including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, dance therapy, and applied behavior analysis (ABA).
- Strong knowledge of ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding systems for accurate diagnostic classification.
- Experience working with children, adolescents, geriatrics, or individuals with disabilities such as autism or developmental delays.
- Skilled in crisis intervention strategies, crisis management protocols, and behavior management techniques.
- Familiarity with medical terminology related to behavioral health and mental health conditions; experience with medical records documentation.
- Ability to conduct intake assessments effectively via telehealth or in-person settings while adhering to HIPAA standards.
- Excellent case management skills with a focus on patient assessment, treatment planning, and follow-up care across outpatient or inpatient environments.
