Dallastown Medical Associates is a private family practice in Dallastown, PA. We are a professional, fast-paced office and our goal is to provide quality healthcare to our patients.
We are looking for a highly motivated, positive, flexible Medical Assistant with a minimum of 5 years clinical and family practice experience. Full time 35-40 hours a week. Schedule includes one evening per week and rotating Saturday mornings. Medical Assistant certification is required after 3 months of employment, if candidate is not already certified. Depending on experience, we are willing to train the right candidate.
Clinical staff, under the supervision of the clinical supervisor, is responsible for assisting the delivery of health care and patient management. Must be able to stand for extended periods of time; push, pull and reach; occasionally bend, sit, stoop and stretch. Have full range of motion, including handling and lifting patients. Have normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare and communicate appropriate reports.
Knowledge of medical practice and care. Ability to take vital signs. Knowledge of medical equipment and instruments. Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions. Ability to assist in a variety of treatments and medications. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, co-workers, and the public. Ability to use good judgement and react calmly in emergency situations. Ability to operate a computer. Problem solving and developing and maintaining clinical quality assurance.
Follow HIPPA compliance, HITECH, FACTA and Red Flag guidelines. Prepare patients for examination and treatment by escorting them from the waiting area to the exam room, obtain vital signs, review and update patient records and medication list, perform diabetic foot exams, perform EKG's, give injections, phlebotomy, eye and audio exams, Holter monitors, etc. Ability to assist physicians with exams and procedures. Retrieve and complete triage messages as ordered by providers. Schedule patient appointments with specialty doctors as needed. Schedule tests at outside facilities as needed. Enter test results in patient e-chart. Perform other related activities as needed. Prepare, stock and clean exam rooms. Maintain a neat and orderly work environment.
The work of this position is performed in a controlled office environment. This position requires the ability to work under pressure and with a diverse population, including staff, physicians, clients, patients, insurance companies and other members of the public on a regular basis. This position may cause frequent exposure to communicable diseases, bodily fluids and other conditions common to a clinical environment.
Qualified candidates must be able to provide child abuse clearances, a criminal background check and finger printing.
