Affordable Housing Property Manager
Job Summary
Positive Housing Management is seeking a motivated and organized Assistant Property Manager to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start a career in affordable housing property management. Candidates with previous Assistant Property Manager experience are encouraged to apply; however, we are also happy to train someone with the right attitude, organizational skills, and willingness to learn.
We are looking for someone who enjoys helping people, is eager to learn, works well with others, and can stay organized in a fast-paced office environment. This position requires a strong attention to detail, the ability to follow established procedures, and a willingness to learn HUD and affordable housing compliance requirements.
Responsibilities
The Assistant Property Manager will work closely with the Property Manager and assist with the daily operations of the community, including:
- Assisting with resident recertifications and lease renewals
- Processing applications and screening prospective residents
- Maintaining waiting lists and finding qualified applicants
- Assisting with rent collection and resident account follow-up
- Preparing, organizing, and maintaining resident files
- Communicating professionally with residents, applicants, vendors, and team members
- Answering phones, responding to emails, and providing excellent customer service
- Following company policies and compliance guidelines
- Performing administrative and office tasks as needed to support the Property Manager
Qualifications
- Previous experience as an Assistant Property Manager is a plus, but not required.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Friendly, professional, and enjoys helping people.
- Works well as part of a team and collaborates effectively with others.
- Able to follow instructions and established procedures.
- Comfortable handling paperwork and administrative tasks throughout the day.
- Able to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information responsibly.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and email.
- Ability to multitask and stay organized in a busy office environment.
