Join our dynamic Optometry Practice team as an Optical Laboratory Technician for an in house finishing lab. In this vital role, you will be responsible for cutting and edging lenses into high end frames as well as dispensing and adjustments of patient eyewear. Your expertise will help deliver clear vision solutions to customers, supporting their daily lives and enhancing their experiences. Duties
- Operate and maintain optical lens edgers, lensometers, and other laboratory equipment to produce lenses according to specified parameters
- Interpret ophthalmic prescriptions and abbreviations accurately to determine lens requirements and manufacturing specifications
- Identify lens parameters such as thickness, curvature, and material properties to ensure quality standards are achieved
- Conduct quality assurance checks throughout the manufacturing process to detect defects or deviations from specifications
- Be able to follow an organized workflow system in an onsite finishing lab
- Apply laboratory procedures and techniques to produce precise optical components while adhering to safety protocols and industry regulations
Skills
- Strong knowledge of opthalmic lens fabrication
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Extensive experience with optical laboratory procedures, including lens edging, machining, and parameter identification
- Familiar with different types of lens materials and design of progressive lenses
- Ability to interpret ophthalmic prescriptions accurately

Pay: $23.82 - $28.69 per hour
