Duties
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and quality standards
- Assist with food preparation, including chopping, slicing, marinating, and portioning ingredients
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, adhering to food safety and sanitation protocols
- Support menu planning efforts by suggesting new ideas and ensuring ingredient availability
- Handle food with care, following proper food handling procedures to prevent contamination
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of orders during busy service hours
- Contribute to catering events and special functions by preparing large quantities of dishes as needed
Skills
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or as a dietary aide in a restaurant or healthcare setting
- Strong knife skills and proficiency in meal preparation techniques
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper food handling practices
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills to coordinate with kitchen staff and serving teams
- Experience with menu planning, food service operations, and catering is highly desirable
- Familiarity with dietary department procedures and dietary aide responsibilities is a plus
