Regional Heavy Truck & Crane Mechanic
Job Type: Full-Time
Pay: $25.00–$38.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Regional Heavy Truck & Crane Mechanic to join our team. This position is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy-duty trucks, cranes, and rigging equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation. The ideal candidate is mechanically skilled, safety-conscious, and willing to travel throughout the region to perform maintenance and repairs as needed.
Responsibilities
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair heavy-duty trucks, cranes, and related equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled service.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
- Conduct inspections to ensure equipment meets all safety and regulatory standards.
- Operate heavy-duty trucks to transport equipment to and from job sites when necessary.
- Maintain accurate service and maintenance records.
- Respond to equipment breakdowns and emergency service calls.
- Follow all company safety policies and industry regulations.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with the appropriate endorsements to operate heavy-duty trucks.
- Experience repairing and maintaining heavy-duty trucks, cranes, and rigging equipment.
- Knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and heavy equipment diagnostics.
- Required certifications or manufacturer certifications related to heavy truck and crane maintenance preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret service manuals and technical diagrams.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work in various weather conditions.
- Willingness to travel regionally as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Crane inspection and repair certifications.
- ASE Medium/Heavy Truck Certification or equivalent.
- Experience working with DOT regulations and commercial fleet maintenance.
- Welding or fabrication experience is a plus.
