Senior Accountant – Corporate Entities
POSITION SUMMARY
The Senior Accountant – Corporate Entities is a critical contributor to the financial health and operational integrity of Morgan Properties’ Management Company. Reporting to the Financial Reporting Manager, this role ensures the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of monthly financial reporting, variance analysis, budgeting, and cash flow forecasting — all in full compliance with U.S. GAAP.
This position partners closely with accounting and operational teams across the organization, providing the insightful financial analysis and reporting that drives informed decision-making at every level. The Senior Accountant plays a key role in preparing quarterly and annual combined financial statements, supporting audit and compliance initiatives, and identifying process improvements that strengthen financial controls and enhance operational efficiency.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare all aspects of the financial statement package for Corporate Entities, including creating and posting journal entries, detailed general ledger account review, and completion of all supporting schedules.
- Prepare financial schedules, statements, and reports; review balance sheet and profit and loss statements for accuracy.
- Analyze financial results and provide clear, concise explanations for significant variances, trends, and unusual transactions.
- Assist in the preparation of audited and unaudited financial statements, disclosures, footnotes, and supporting schedules.
- Prepare ad hoc financial analyses and account reconciliations as required for the Corporate Entities.
Budgeting & Cash Flow Management
- Lead preparation of the annual Management Company budget and perform budget-to-actual variance analyses, partnering with department leaders to evaluate financial performance.
- Prepare monthly cash flow analyses and forecasts to support liquidity planning and strategic decision-making.
Accounting Operations
- Perform key accounting functions for the Management Company, ensuring compliance with established accounting policies and procedures.
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual partnership reporting as needed.
Controls, Processes & Continuous Improvement
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of financial information.
- Identify process improvement opportunities and recommend best practices to enhance efficiency, scalability, and compliance.
- Participate in special projects, including evaluating existing processes and recommending improvements and best practices.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Support
- Work closely with accounting and cross-functional teams to support reporting accuracy and operational alignment.
- Serve as a key contributor during audits and reporting cycles by preparing schedules, responding to inquiries, and providing supporting documentation in a timely manner.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance from a four-year college or university required.
- 4+ years of experience in public accounting, or a combination of public accounting and industry experience, with a strong background in variance analysis, budget preparation, and workpaper reviews.
- Proven experience managing multiple priorities while meeting reporting deadlines.
- Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting standards.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
- Strong organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to manage competing deadlines and deliver accurate work.
- Detail-oriented mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
- CPA preferred, but not required.
Tools & Systems:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel required.
- Experience with Yardi accounting software preferred, but not required.

Salary range: $85,000-$90,000/yr
If you are hired at Morgan Properties, your overall compensation package will also be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience which may result in total compensation outside of this range.
