Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated In-person Certified Elementary and/or High School Math Tutor to join our educational team in. This role offers an exciting opportunity to inspire students by providing personalized, engaging, and effective math instruction. As a certified tutor, you will work directly with learners of various ages and skill levels, helping them build confidence and mastery in math concepts ranging from basic arithmetic to advanced calculus. Your expertise will contribute to fostering a positive learning environment that promotes academic success and lifelong curiosity for mathematics.
Duties
- Deliver in-person tutoring sessions tailored to individual student needs, focusing on core subjects such as algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus, statistics, and discrete math.
- Develop customized lesson plans and curriculum materials that align with students’ learning goals and school requirements.
- Utilize innovative learning technology tools to enhance instruction and facilitate interactive learning experiences.
- Assist students with test preparation strategies for standardized exams and school assessments across various math topics.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively to create a supportive and focused learning environment for teenagers and children.
- Track student progress through assessments and provide constructive feedback to help learners improve their skills continuously.
Qualifications
- Valid in-person certification in for teaching or tutoring mathematics.
- Proven experience working with students of diverse backgrounds, including teenagers and children.
- Strong knowledge of math subjects including algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus, differential equations, statistics, discrete math, and data structures.
- Familiarity with curriculum development, lesson planning, and the integration of learning technology tools.
- Demonstrated ability to teach science topics such as chemistry (organic chemistry), biology (microbiology, genetics), physiology (anatomy), and related fields when necessary.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly and engagingly.
- Proficiency in classroom management techniques and working with special education or early childhood education needs is preferred.
- Strong computer skills for online instruction support when needed; experience with educational software is a plus.
- Passion for working with children and adolescents to foster a love of learning in math and science disciplines.
