Responsibilities
- Assist dentists chairside during a variety of procedures including restorative, endodontics, prosthodontics, oral surgery, and pediatric dentistry.
- Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment following strict infection prevention management protocols.
- Take dental x-rays and 3D scans using advanced medical imaging technology while maintaining proper aseptic techniques.
- Manage patient records accurately using Open Dental.
- Perform vital signs assessment.
- Educate patients on oral health practices, post-treatment instructions, and dental terminology to promote ongoing oral health management.
- Support administrative tasks including patient management software updates, appointment scheduling, and coordinating with dental reception staff for seamless patient flow.
Experience
- Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with a strong understanding of general dentistry procedures.
- Hands-on experience with dental sterilization procedures, infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques.
- Familiarity with dental equipment including X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and other clinical tools used in modern dental practices.
- Knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology related to dentistry, and medical coding for documentation purposes.
- Proficiency in EMR systems such as Open Dental is preferred; familiarity with patient management software is essential.
- Ability to adhere strictly to clinical confidentiality policies while managing sensitive patient information.
