As a Bookkeeper, you will support small businesses and nonprofit organizations by maintaining accurate financial records, managing day-to-day accounting functions, and providing dependable financial information that helps clients make informed decisions.
Key Responsibilities
· Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for multiple clients
· Record and categorize financial transactions using accounting software
· Perform monthly bank, credit card, and loan account reconciliations
· Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
· Prepare and process client invoices, bills, and vendor payments
· Prepare monthly financial reports, including profit and loss statements and balance sheets
· Review client financial data for completeness and accuracy
· Support month-end and year-end closing processes
· Communicate directly with clients to gather information, answer questions, and provide bookkeeping support
· Assist with sales tax filings and other routine compliance requirements
· Collaborate with accountants and advisors to ensure clients receive timely and accurate financial information
· Help identify opportunities to improve processes and enhance client service
What We’re Looking For
· Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred but not required
· 2–3 years of bookkeeping, accounting, or client accounting services experience
· Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles and financial recordkeeping
· Experience with QuickBooks Online required; QuickBooks Desktop experience is a plus
· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications
· Excellent organizational and time-management skills
· Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
· Ability to manage multiple clients and priorities effectively
· Positive attitude and willingness to learn and grow
· Excellent communication and customer service skills
· Experience working with nonprofit organizations is a plus, but not required
