Duties
- Deliver individualized behavioral therapy sessions based on established treatment plans, including Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) techniques.
- Collect, record, and analyze data on client progress to inform ongoing treatment strategies.
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as grooming, dressing, feeding, and hygiene to promote independence.
- Support teaching and skill acquisition across communication, social, and functional domains tailored to each client’s needs.
- Implement behavior management strategies to reinforce positive behaviors and reduce challenging behaviors in accordance with care plans.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation, including progress notes, session reports, and behavioral records while adhering to HIPAA regulations for confidentiality.
- Collaborate effectively with families, caregivers, and team members to ensure consistency in intervention delivery and progress monitoring.
Experience
- Prior experience working with children or individuals with autism or developmental disabilities is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of behavioral therapy principles, especially Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), is essential.
- Experience assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and implementing behavior management techniques is advantageous.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, medical records management, and HIPAA compliance is beneficial for maintaining confidentiality and accurate documentation.
- Demonstrated ability to teach new skills through data collection and analysis in a clinical or educational setting.
- Strong communication skills for working collaboratively with clients’ families and multidisciplinary teams.
