We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Entry Level Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. As an Entry Level Accountant, you will assist with a variety of accounting functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance across financial processes. Responsibilities
- Prepare and record journal entries, ensuring accuracy in double-entry bookkeeping and adherence to GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Assist with account reconciliation processes, including bank reconciliations, general ledger reconciliation, and accounts payable/receivable management.
- Support the preparation of financial statements, reports, and summaries for management review.
- Conduct balance sheet reconciliation and analyze financial data to identify discrepancies or areas for improvement.
- Help with regulatory reporting requirements and ensure compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) standards.
- Contribute to audit preparations by maintaining organized documentation and supporting audit requests.
- Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft, or similar tools to process transactions and generate reports.
- Collaborate with team members on budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis projects to enhance financial management practices.
- Gain exposure to specialized areas such as non-profit accounting, governmental accounting, or securities law as part of professional development.
Skills
- Strong understanding of financial concepts including debits & credits, accrual accounting, and account analysis.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with other financial software like QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or PeopleSoft.
- Knowledge of GAAP standards and regulatory requirements such as SOX compliance.
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to perform account reconciliation and bank reconciliation accurately.
- Effective communication skills for financial report writing and interpretation of complex data.
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new accounting systems like Quicken or other industry-specific tools.
- Basic understanding of taxation principles and experience with accounts payable/receivable processes is a plus.
- Demonstrated interest in corporate finance, public accounting, or financial services sectors is desirable. Pay: $50,399.30 - $60,695.94 per year
