About the Position
GEC Transport Solutions LLC is seeking a responsible, organized, and detail-oriented Transportation Safety & Compliance Coordinator to help manage the company’s transportation safety and compliance activities.
We are looking for someone with experience in the trucking, transportation, safety, or compliance industry who can manage multiple responsibilities, maintain accurate records, follow established procedures, and ensure important compliance requirements and deadlines are properly tracked.
Key Responsibilities
The Transportation Safety & Compliance Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating, tracking, and maintaining records related to:
· Driver hiring, onboarding, qualification, training, and Driver Qualification Files.
· DOT, FMCSA, and state compliance requirements.
· Drug and alcohol testing programs and FMCSA Clearinghouse requirements.
· Driver documentation, licenses, medical cards, and other required records.
· Roadside inspections, safety violations, and required follow-up.
· Accident reporting, insurance claims, and related documentation.
· IFTA quarterly mileage reporting and required filings.
· Truck registrations, plate renewals, and annual state inspection requirements.
· GPS, ELD, and vehicle/trailer monitoring equipment, including activations, deactivations, updates, and coordination with service providers.
· Maintaining organized records, tracking expiration dates, regulatory deadlines, renewals, and other compliance-related requirements.
Qualifications
· Previous experience in the trucking, transportation, fleet, safety, or compliance industry is required.
· General knowledge and understanding of DOT and FMCSA regulations and transportation compliance requirements.
· Experience working with driver files, safety records, fleet records, or transportation-related documentation.
· Experience in one or more areas such as DOT/FMCSA compliance, driver qualification, drug and alcohol programs, accident reporting, IFTA, fleet records, or related transportation compliance functions.
· Strong organizational, recordkeeping, and follow-up skills.
· Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and deadlines.
· Strong communication skills and the ability to work with drivers, vendors, insurance companies, and management.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other computer-based systems.
· Experience with McLeod Software or other transportation management systems is a plus.
· Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred.
