Indian Community School (ICS) is seeking a compassionate, qualified individual to join our team as Medical Service Aide during the school year. In this role, you will perform vital care-related duties for ill and injured students, administer prescribed medications, and collaborate with external health agencies to design and maintain an exceptional school health program.
Key Responsibilities
Direct Student Care & Medical Services
- Serve as the primary school health resource, distributing and administering medications to students as prescribed or required.
- Administer first aid and acute care for student injuries or illnesses.
- Assess medical situations and determine when emergency services are necessary.
- Teach and guide students in practices of personal hygiene, cleanliness, and self-care.
Health Administration & Compliance
- Maintain, secure, and inventory all health-room medical and school supplies.
- Record and monitor student immunization records and health data in compliance with state regulations.
- Maintain accurate, confidential records of student health room visits by grade level.
- Prepare and submit mandatory statistical and compliance reports to regulatory agencies.
- Strictly comply with State Laws regarding the reporting of suspected child abuse and neglect.
Community, Culture, & Collaboration
- Partner with parents, keeping them actively informed and engaged regarding their children's health needs.
- Lead staff development and training sessions in the areas of school health and basic medical services.
- Infuse American Indian culture, language, traditions, and the Seven Sacred Gifts into daily interactions and health programs.
- Assist with student supervision during scheduled playground, cafeteria, and bus duties.

Pay: $18.62 - $22.58 per hour
