ABOUT GIOIA VITA CAFFE
Gioia Vita Caffe is a high-end Italian cafe opening in Downtown San Diego. Inspired by Sicilian hospitality and the tradition of gathering around espresso, our mission is to create a space where every guest feels at home and experiences the joy found in life's simple moments.
In addition to our specialty coffee, we will offer authentic Italian-inspired food and beverage offerings including gelato, panini, and desserts.
We are seeking experienced baristas who are passionate about coffee, hospitality, and craftsmanship. This is not an entry-level position. Applicants should already have experience dialing in espresso, steaming milk, and producing consistent latte art.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare espresso-based beverages to a high specialty coffee standard
- Steam milk properly for cappuccinos, cortados, and lattes
- Create consistent latte art
- Prepare and serve panini, gelato and other cafe food offerings
- Maintain cleanliness and organization and food safety standards
- Follow recipes and quality standards precisely
- Provide exceptional hospitality and guest service
- Assist with opening, closing, and daily cafe operations
- Work efficiently while maintaining quality during busy periods
REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum 1 year specialty coffee or high-volume cafe experience preferred
- Ability to dial in espresso and adjust grind settings
- Strong milk steaming skills and latte art experience
- Understanding of espresso extraction and beverage quality
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Dependable, punctual, and professional
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Weekend and evening availability preferred
