Field Superintendent – Commercial & Residential Construction

About the Role
NOVON Consulting is partnering with a well-established Minnesota construction company seeking a Field Superintendent across residential, commercial, agricultural, and equestrian sectors.
Join a growing construction team that values precision, safety, and leadership. As a Field Superintendent, you’ll oversee daily field operations for commercial and residential projects — managing crews, subcontractors, and schedules to deliver high‑quality results on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of field production and subcontractor performance
- Oversee in-house man hours and ensure labor efficiency
- Review and approve all scopes of work (SOWs) and understand full project scope
- Conduct Pre-Build and Pre-Con meetings for every job, bringing all required checklists
- Develop and maintain initial Gantt chart from start to finish, including all SOWs
- Complete Buildertrend (BT) daily logs with photos for every active job
- Enforce PPE and hold regular on-site safety meetings
- Maintain organized, safe, and spotless jobsites
- Ensure site readiness for high labor efficiency (subs and in-house teams)
- Provide 72-hour start notices to subcontractors (verbal and email)
- Manage inventory checklists and ensure equipment is in good working order
- Notify Project Coordinator/Project Manager immediately of any schedule or scope impacts
- Identify and communicate plan/spec issues or missing details promptly
- Use proper coding on all purchase orders
- Fill in for missing field personnel, punch list work, or equipment mobilization as needed
- Be on-site or in the respective office by 7:00 AM daily
- Schedule and verify inspections; ensure subcontractors do the same
- Maintain strict quality control and provide input for subcontractor performance ratings
- Conduct final punch list walkthroughs with customers
- Always have a tool belt and basic tools ready for immediate use
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in commercial and/or residential construction supervision
- Strong understanding of construction methods, scheduling, and cost controls
- Proficiency with Buildertrend or similar project management software
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and teams simultaneously
- Commitment to safety, quality, and professionalism
On-site M-F
$90,000 and $120,000 per year, depending on experience
