Duties
- Prepare ingredients and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards
- Ensure all food safety and sanitation guidelines are strictly followed during food handling and preparation
- Assist with menu planning by providing input on dish presentation and ingredient selection
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, including knives, utensils, and cooking equipment
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation for service periods
- Support catering events by preparing dishes in accordance with event specifications
- Serve food efficiently while maintaining high standards of quality and presentation
Qualifications
- Previous experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is a plus, demonstrating familiarity with food handling protocols
- Proven culinary experience in restaurant or fine dining settings, showcasing strong food preparation skills
- Excellent knife skills and proficiency in cooking techniques across various cuisines
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper food handling procedures
- Experience with menu planning, meal preparation, and catering operations is desirable
- Strong understanding of the food industry standards for quality, hygiene, and customer service
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
