CES is looking for reliable, detail-oriented individuals to assist in performing non-confrontational compliance checks on local tobacco retailers to ensure the sale of tobacco products to Underage Purchasers is restricted. The inspection is used to establish a retailer’s compliance with federal regulations. This work is conducted on a part-time, case-volume basis with flexibility relevant to the individual’s schedule.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Travel with an Underage Purchaser; identify and verify site address provided.
- Facilitate and observe undercover buys in coordination with trained Underage Purchasers.
- Collect evidence of violations, such as photographs and tobacco products.
- Complete compliance check inspection forms, detailing any violations, when applicable.
Required qualifications/skills:
- Must be either a current law enforcement official with a valid Peace Officer’s license, or a current state, city, or county employee with duties centered around ensuring the public safety of their community.

- All Compliance Inspectors will complete required trainings. Inspectors will get compensated for their training time.
- Must be able to undergo a security clearance background check and become credentialed by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
