Kansas State Athletics invites applications for an Assistant/Associate Athletic Director of Business. This position supports the financial and business operations of a Power 4 intercollegiate athletics department and plays a key role in budgeting, financial reporting, business processes, and compliance. The successful candidate will contribute to sound fiscal management while supporting the mission and strategic goals of K-State Athletics.
This position reports to the Senior Associate Athletic Director/Chief Financial Officer (or designee) and works collaboratively with athletics staff and campus partners.
An example of job duties includes but are not limited to:
- Assist with the development, administration, and monitoring of the athletics department’s annual operating budget.
- Support daily business office operations, including purchasing, travel, contracts, payments, and internal controls.
- Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation and responding to audit requests
- Support financial processes related to evolving NCAA initiatives, including Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL), as applicable
- Supervise, train, and evaluate assigned business office staff and student employees.
- Assist with special projects, revenue initiatives, capital projects, and department modernization. • Perform other duties as assigned to support the goals and objectives of K-State Athletics.

This position is On-site.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, accounting, sport management, or a related field.
- Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in athletics business operations, higher education finance, or a related area.
- Demonstrated knowledge of NCAA and conference financial regulations.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in business administration, finance, sport management, or a related field.
- Experience working in a Power 4 (Power 5) intercollegiate athletics department.
- Supervisory or leadership experience.
- Experience using enterprise financial systems such as Workday, PeopleSoft, or similar platforms.
Additional Role Information:
- Primarily an office-based position.
- Occasional evenings and weekends may be required based on athletics events and operational needs.
