Adjunct/Contract Position
Cambridge College of Healthcare & Technology is a student-centered institution committed to excellence in healthcare education and the preparation of future nursing professionals. We are seeking an experienced, energetic, and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our faculty as an Adjunct Practical Nursing Instructor specializing in Obstetrics (OB)/Maternity, and Pediatrics (PEDS), and Nursing.
This position is ideal for a nursing professional who is passionate about teaching, mentoring students, and preparing future practical nurses for NCLEX success and safe, patient-centered practice.
Position Summary
The Adjunct Practical Nursing Instructor reports directly to the Dean of Nursing and is responsible for delivering high-quality didactic and clinical instruction while promoting student success, professionalism, and clinical competence.
Primary Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging instruction in classroom, laboratory, and clinical settings.
- Create a positive learning environment that supports diverse learning styles.
- Facilitate student achievement of course and program learning outcomes.
- Assess student performance through examinations, assignments, and clinical evaluations.
- Develop and implement remediation plans when needed.
- Supervise and evaluate students during laboratory and clinical experiences.
- Promote professionalism, accountability, critical thinking, and clinical judgment.
- Enforce institutional, laboratory, and clinical policies.
- Report student concerns and sentinel events promptly to the Dean of Nursing.
- Participate in curriculum development, faculty meetings, and program evaluation activities.
- Maintain professional nursing competence through continuing education and clinical practice.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Required:
- Active, unencumbered Florida Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution
- Minimum one (2) years of classroom teaching experience in a professional nursing program
- Minimum two (2) years of clinical experience in Obstetrics, Pediatrics, and/or Maternity Nursing
- Experience supervising nursing students in clinical settings
- Ability to work on campus
Preferred:
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN)
- Previous nursing teaching experience
- Experience teaching OB/PEDS didactic content
- Familiarity with Florida Board of Nursing regulations and accreditation standards
