Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly, taking orders accurately and efficiently using POS systems such as Toast or Clover.
- Prepare food items following established recipes and food safety standards, ensuring quality and consistency.
- Manage cash handling duties, including processing payments, giving correct change, and balancing registers at shift end.
- Upsell menu items to enhance customer satisfaction and increase sales opportunities.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas, including food prep stations, dining areas, and kitchen equipment.
- Assist with food prep tasks such as chopping, assembling ingredients, and packaging orders for quick service.
- Support food industry best practices by adhering to safety protocols, proper food handling procedures, and sanitation regulations.
- Engage in bussing tables, clearing dishes, and supporting the overall cleanliness of the café or retail environment.
- Demonstrate excellent customer service skills by addressing guest inquiries promptly and courteously.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during busy periods while managing time effectively.
Experience
- Previous experience in food preparation or a fast-paced restaurant environment is preferred but not required; training will be provided.
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Toast or Clover is advantageous.
- Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math, and order calculations are essential.
