The College of Westchester, an Associate degree- and Baccalaureate degree-granting college, is seeking a full-time Support Specialist.
General Statement:
The Support Specialist’s primary responsibility is to provide helpdesk support, business analysis, administrative and technology support services for the Information Technology department.
Qualifications:
- The successful candidate will have an associate degree in computer-related studies and 1-2 years of professional experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Significant demonstrated knowledge in the use of Microsoft Office applications including Microsoft Teams and the Windows desktop operating system is required.
- Capable of providing desktop support services to end clients.
- Must possess excellent customer service skills.
- Must be willing and able to work Monday through Thursday, 09:30 am to 7:00 pm, and Friday or Saturday 8:00 am to 2:00 pm.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide client support services for business application systems (Microsoft 365, Anthology, Google Docs, Zoom, Brightspace etc.) as required.
- Assist in managing departmental equipment inventory, purchases, and repairs, ensuring appropriate levels of available equipment are maintained.
- Assist in training services for faculty and staff pertaining to productive use of software products and systems as required.
- Provide essential administrative services for the procurement of required hardware, software, and professional services.
- Perform requested moves, adds, and changes for all telephony needs throughout the organization as required.
- Create and maintain user accounts, passwords, and network folders for staff, faculty, and students, as required.
- Provide required cross-training of critical services identified in the CW Systems – Applications and Roles grid.
- Attend higher education technology seminars to support the latest trends in technology for CW students, faculty, and staff.
- Work towards demonstrating responsibilities in line with the next level up.
- Demonstrate an “in service mentality” to all staff, faculty, and co-workers.
- Uphold and model the CW Way philosophy in all interactions.
Annual Salary Range: $45,000 – $55,000
