MEP Assistant Superintendent Job Summary
A nationally recognized multifamily developer, general contractor, owner, and builder is hiring an MEP Assistant Superintendent for a 250-unit, nine-story multifamily high-rise development in South Florida.
The project has recently topped out and is advancing through MEP rough-in, interior construction, inspections, commissioning, and turnover. The MEP Assistant Superintendent will help coordinate all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and low-voltage work through final completion.

MEP Assistant Superintendent Responsibilities
- Assist the Superintendent with daily coordination of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, HVAC, and low-voltage subcontractors.
- Monitor MEP installations for quality, safety, schedule compliance, and conformance with construction drawings and specifications.
- Coordinate MEP rough-in and equipment installation with structural, architectural, framing, drywall, and finish scopes.
- Review MEP drawings, shop drawings, specifications, submittals, RFIs, and BIM coordination documents.
- Identify potential field conflicts and coordinate solutions with subcontractors, project managers, engineers, architects, and consultants.
- Lead or participate in MEP subcontractor coordination and weekly construction meetings.
- Develop and maintain short-term schedules, three-week lookaheads, daily reports, inspection logs, and punch lists.
- Coordinate city inspections, third-party inspections, utility connections, system testing, equipment start-up, and commissioning.
- Track outstanding RFIs, submittals, material deliveries, equipment lead times, and corrective work.
- Ensure MEP systems are installed correctly before walls and ceilings are closed.
- Support unit turnover, life-safety inspections, owner training, final punch, and project closeout.
- Enforce company safety standards and maintain a clean, organized construction site.
MEP Assistant Superintendent Qualifications
- Experience with Life Safety Systems and managing inspections for them is huge.
- At least 3 years of commercial construction, multifamily construction, high-rise construction, or MEP field experience.
- Previous experience as an Assistant Superintendent, MEP Assistant Superintendent, MEP Coordinator, Project Engineer, Field Engineer, Mechanical Superintendent, Electrical Superintendent, Plumbing Superintendent, or similar construction role.
- Working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, life-safety, and low-voltage systems.
- Experience with ground-up multifamily, apartments, condominiums, hospitality, high-rise, mid-rise, or large commercial construction preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing drawings.
- Understanding of MEP inspections, testing, commissioning, equipment start-up, and construction closeout.
- Strong scheduling, documentation, subcontractor coordination, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, PlanGrid, BIM, or similar construction management software is preferred.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification is preferred.
- Ability to work full-time onsite in the South Florida area.

Pay: $100,000.00 - $135,000.00 per year
