Job Overview
Schwartz Family Contracting is seeking a hardworking, dependable, and detail-oriented Renovation Technician to join our growing team. This position is ideal for someone who takes pride in quality craftsmanship and enjoys transforming homes through remodeling and renovation projects. As a Renovation Technician, you will assist with every phase of construction—from demolition and material removal to installation and final finishes. Candidates should be motivated, reliable, and physically capable of performing demanding work while maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism.
Responsibilities
- Perform demolition, tear-out, debris removal, and site preparation for renovation projects.
- Safely lift, carry, and move heavy building materials, equipment, and tools (50+ lbs.) throughout the workday.
- Install drywall, insulation, trim, cabinetry, flooring, tile, doors, windows, and other finish materials with precision.
- Complete drywall finishing, caulking, painting, plastering, and other finishing work to achieve a high-quality appearance.
- Assist with framing, roofing, concrete work, masonry, and general carpentry tasks.
- Load, unload, organize, and transport construction materials to maintain an efficient job site.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, ladders, scaffolding, and construction equipment safely and effectively.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas throughout each project.
- Perform quality checks and inspections to ensure work meets company standards and customer expectations.
- Collaborate with project managers and team members to complete projects on schedule.
- Follow all OSHA and company safety guidelines at all times.
- Provide excellent customer service by maintaining a professional appearance and positive attitude on every job site.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in residential or commercial remodeling, construction, or renovation preferred.
- Strong knowledge of carpentry, drywall, painting, flooring, trim work, tile, demolition, and general construction practices.
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, ladders, scaffolding, and construction equipment safely.
- Ability to read blueprints and construction drawings.
- Strong work ethic with excellent attention to detail.
- Reliable transportation and punctual attendance.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to frequently lift and carry 50–100 pounds.
- Strong physical stamina with the ability to bend, kneel, squat, climb ladders, and stand for extended periods.
- Ability to perform repetitive lifting, pushing, pulling, and overhead work throughout the day.
- Comfortable performing demolition, hauling debris, and handling physically demanding tasks.
- Must be able to work in dusty, noisy, and active construction environments.
