Duties
- Greet customers warmly, answer questions, and assist with product information or demonstrations
- Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately to process retail sales transactions and handle cash, credit, or debit payments
- Upsell products and promote special offers to enhance customer satisfaction and increase sales
- Maintain merchandising standards by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring product availability
- Conduct product demos when applicable to educate customers about features and benefits
- Practice excellent phone etiquette when handling inquiries or follow-up calls from customers or vendors
- Manage inventory by assisting with stock replenishment and ensuring accurate record-keeping of sales and stock levels
Skills
- Strong communication skills in both verbal and written forms; bilingual abilities are a plus
- Demonstrated supervising experience or leadership skills in a retail environment
- Ability to perform basic math quickly and accurately for transactions and inventory counts
- Knowledge of merchandising, stocking techniques, and retail math principles
- Excellent phone etiquette, active listening skills, and the ability to upsell effectively
- Experience with grocery store operations or similar environments is preferred but not required
