Build & Paint Portland is a family-owned residential painting company specializing in high quality interior and exterior painting, kitchen cabinet painting, exterior staining and carpentry. This is our ninth year operating in and around Portland, OR, and we work with homeowners, general contractors and interior designers.
We are looking for an experienced painter with three or more years of experience to join our core team. You will apply your skill and expertise while learning our approach at Build & Paint Portland. An hourly wage and benefits package is negotiable based on your years of experience and skill level. Our crew leads have been with us between two and six years, and every one of them started with us as a painter. We pay for the certifications and training that build your career. Who we are looking for:
- A professional dedicated to the craft of house painting
- Steady employment history with references we can call
- Reliable and punctual, able to work without close supervision
- Real skill with prep, cutting in, brush and roller work. Spray experience a plus
- Comfortable talking to team members and homeowners in a professional way
What you'll do:
- Perform high-quality residential interior and exterior painting
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites
- Work as part of a team to fulfill a daily work plan
- Lead small projects while working individually or with an assistant
- Participate in crew trainings; assists junior crew members to develop basic skills and knowledge
Skills and Knowledge:
- Three years minimum residential painting experience
- Proven experience with professional masking, taping, and surface preparation protocols
- Exceptionally strong brush control and cutting-in skills for detail work and clean edges
- High attention to detail to ensure zero overspray, paint bleeds, or surface imperfections
- Able to work on ladders and rooftops
- Open to learning new techniques and skillsets
Requirements
- 3 years of verifiable experience in painting
- Residential repaint experience required
- Valid current driver’s license and personal vehicle to drive from job to job
- Work on ladders up to 40’ and move ladders independently up to 20’
- Ability to lift up to 60 pounds
- Work in a variety of temperatures and conditions
