JOB TITLE: BEHAVIORAL HEALTH TECHNICIAN (BHT)
JOB BRIEF: The Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) implements treatment plans and behavioral interventions to children and adolescents within a therapeutic environment that includes school, home, and/or community setting. A BHT will use the behavioral treatment plan to help the child improve their behavioral health through targeted strategies and behavioral techniques that address the child’s specific needs and goals.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in residential home care preferred, willing to train the right candidates.
- Must be physically able to perform the duties of this position
- Must possess excellent communication and verbal de-escalation skills.
- Be mature, caring, punctual, and reliable.
- Be able to stay awake the entire night REQURED
- Attention to detail and ability to communicate effectively in written form.
REQUIRED:
- Must have and maintain a valid Arizona Driver’s License
- Must maintain a valid and unexpired Fingerprint Clearance Card.
- CPR, and First Aid certification. CPR Skills portion must have been trained in person.
- Non-violent crisis intervention certification (CPI)
- Provide all Tuberculosis requirements (Test in past 12 mo)
- Pass a DCS Central Registry search before working with youth
- Pass a criminal background check (national and any required by state).
- Provide verifiable professional and/or personal references.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support the agency’s vision and role model professionalism and adherence to agency policies and procedures,
- Cultivate a positive work environment,
- Responsible for the health, safety, and wellbeing of the residents.
- Provides direct care service and support to the residents in meeting their basic personal and home care needs. This may include assistance or prompting with personal hygiene and self-administration of medication, meal time preparation, and chores.
- Modeling appropriate social behavior and positive use of free time with recreational activity both in the home and the community.
- Ensures that the residents comply with house rules, treatment plans which include personalized goals, appropriate interpersonal relationships, and fire and safety protocols.
- Follows the program guidelines and protocols, implement day-to-day structure which may include redirection, and verbal intervention where applicable.
- Submits significant and routine paperwork such as progress notes, incident reports, medication logs, maintenance requests, etc as required by the program. Attention to detail is important for these clinical records.
- Prepares or supervises meal preparation according to the pre-established menu and client abilities and performs household duties daily. Other specific duties are assigned by shift and posted at the location.
- Ensures that the facility is physically maintained to meet licensure requirements and is clean and habitable at all times.
- Follow the Gusto payroll system instructions to clock in and clock out for all scheduled shifts and accurately update all notes and reports each resident prior to clocking out.
- Conform to the company dress code as specified in the Employee Handbook.
- Complete ongoing training as required
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures as detailed in the Employee Handbook as well as the Policies and Procedures manual.
- Other duties as required.
Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20.0 – 40.0 per week
