Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Glazier/Installer to join our construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and replacing glass, windows, and related fixtures on various commercial projects. Your expertise in measuring, fabrication, and installation will ensure high-quality results that meet safety standards and client specifications. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects while honing your skills in construction and glass installation.
Duties
- Use hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment to cut, shape, and install glass, windows, doors, and fixtures.
- Perform precise dimensional measurements to ensure proper fit and quality control throughout the installation process.
- Install a variety of glass products including storefronts and curtain wall.
- Execute caulking, sealing, trim carpentry, and metal stud framing to secure fixtures and ensure weatherproofing.
- Read construction plans and schematics to coordinate with other trades such as carpentry and remodeling teams.
- Conduct heavy lifting safely when handling large or fragile glass panels; utilize scaffolding or lifts as needed.
- Complete quality inspections during and after installation to verify adherence to specifications and safety standards.
- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and materials while adhering to safety protocols on construction sites.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction estimating, blueprint reading, or related fields such as carpentry or handyman work.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, measuring devices, and fabrication equipment used in glass installation.
- Strong knowledge of construction plans, schematics, technical drawings, and blueprints interpretation.
- Experience working on construction sites with a focus on window installation or glass fabrication is highly desirable.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely; familiarity with scaffolding or lifts is a plus.
- Skilled in caulking, trim carpentry, metal stud framing, door hanging, fixture installation, and remodeling tasks.
- Knowledge of construction painting or drywall finishing is beneficial but not required.
- Excellent attention to detail for quality control measurements; ability to interpret schematics accurately.
- Valid experience in construction site safety practices; ability to work effectively within a team environment.
